Today has been a day of mixed emotions, we would have been celebrating our second year of trading as a fully independent market but unfortunately it wasn't to be, on a positive we will be back next month.
We are really looking forward to it, we miss our traders and the lovely buzz the market creates in the town. We are planning the provisions we will have in place to ensure it is as safe as possible for our volunteers, traders, entertainers and of course visitors. Thank you for all your support throughout what can only be described as this madness and we look forward to welcoming you all back on the 19th December for our Victorian Fayre. We will be sharing the line up of our amazing traders shortly so keep an eye on the event - https://fb.me/e/1jqIRiP1n As a little reminder of what we enjoyed way back in 2019 we've added a few pictures below.

WE ARE BACK!!
We are thrilled and really looking forward to seeing everyone again after such a long and unexpected break. Following the wonderful annual Shepton Mallet Lantern Parade on Saturday evening come and join us for our fabulous ‘Victorian Fayre’ on Sunday the 19th December, open 10am – 3pm. We will have live music from some fabulous local artists in the Market Place to entertain you while you browse and maybe do some last-minute Christmas shopping, a Victorian Fancy Dress Competition with prizes for the best outfit, a Stilt Walker and circus games (for the young and the young at heart). Stalls selling handmade crafts, plants, Christmas wreaths, cakes, mulled cider, wine, street food and more. With shops and cafes open in town there will be plenty for everyone to enjoy. Make a date in your diary and tell your friends and family. We are really looking forward to seeing you back again. FREE parking 🅿️ Dog friendly. Fully accessible - pushchairs, buggies, mobility scooters, etc. Visit our Facebook page for updates Advice for visitors - Although restrictions have been lifted in England, it is still possible to catch and spread COVID-19, even if you are fully vaccinated. This is why we will still have some measures in place including encouraging contactless payments wherever possible. Please help us keep everyone safe by doing your bit:
Although we are an outdoor event which is deemed to be safer, we encourage visitors to wear a face covering, if possible, especially if any areas of the market have a concentration of people. Please be patient, kind and respectful to others so everyone can have an enjoyable day out. |
